VIC:Would-be thief jumps from Comedy Theatre

MELBOURNE, April 23 AAP - A would-be thief who jumped out of a window from Melbourne's
Comedy Theatre had allegedly tried to steal several computers later found on the roof.

The 50-year-old North Melbourne man was found early on Saturday by a cleaner on a ledge,
15 metres below the third floor of the city theatre in Exhibition Street, from where he
was believed to have jumped.

Police believe the attempted burglary occurred about 11pm (AEST) on Friday, with several
computers from the theatre later recovered from the roof.

The man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition with a fractured
ankle and injuries to his hip and back.

No charges have been laid.
